Disney Day 1: Animal Kingdom and Epcot

WARNING: Picture overload...don't say you weren't warned. I'm thinking you won't be too upset. Who doesn't want to see tons of pictures from Disney?!?

Pictures are loaded and Disney recap will now commence! Alison and I were super lucky not to have a single issue with arriving in Orlando. Unfortunately, we were the last of 4 stops on the Disney Magical Express from the airport which meant we were on the bus for at least an hour. It kind of stunk. But we made it to Coronado Springs and our resort was fantastic! Here are a few pics I snapped of our room!

Day 1 of Disney Magic started with breakfast...duh. But not just any breakfast, Mickey shaped breakfast. It doesn't get better than that!

I may need a Mickey shaped waffle iron just to relive the magic. Until then, my Texas shaped one will do just fine :)

Okay so after breakfast we actually went to the expo, but I'm going to combine that with the race since I have so much footage to cover between Animal Kingdom and Epcot!

Animal Kingdom

As you can see, we were all prepped and ready to take on the day! Even Charlie :) His momma put the cutest had on him and he was ready for some animal adventures! It all started with a real live Safari ride. As a huge animal lover, this was my favorite part of Animal Kingdom and I think the girls would agree that it was awesome.

I mean we got to see a giraffe drinking water and a white rhino literally crossed the road right in front of us!!!

After our Safari ride, we wandered around figuring out what we wanted to do next and found it necessary to try on some of these awesome hats. I think Julie's is my favorite! How cute is that Dumbo hat? If only I had other places to wear these hats...and it would be socially acceptable...then I would totally buy one!

In Animal Kingdom, we also had to ride the Everest roller coaster! So much fun...did you know it goes backwards? I don't remember that bit, but it was great. The entire ride and mountain structure is so detailed. I love the amount of work that Disney puts into everything on their property!

This may be one of my favorite shots :) We also ate lunch and did a little dancing at Animal Kingdom. We ate in Asia at Yak & Yeti. Julie and I shared the honey chicken and it was SO GOOD! Disney has so many themed restaurants in the park that you must check out! We also enjoyed a yummy frozen adult beverage to cool us down! {See top left picture below.} Oh and I did say dancing. After lunch there was a woman doing some type of Indian dance, as I walked by I was dancing along with her and her partner pulled me up to dance! Don't worry, I wasn't the only one. There were already about half a dozen people up there and luckily Julie decided to join me as well. It was a lot of fun, but the longest song ever! {See bottom left picture below.}

Next up was Epcot! I didn't remember much about Epcot at all, but I would definitely like to spend more time there next year. It's almost like 2 parks in one: futuristic park and cultural park!

We did space rides, walked around trying to find things in the dark and visited the Soda shop where you can try different sodas from around the world!

My favorite area was the cultural part of the park where you walk through several different countries. We ended up eating Mediterranean food in Morocco for dinner! For those of you going to Disney soon {ahem Erin!}, there is a restaurant in France that is super nice, though it is called a casual cafe, that would be a great dinner spot!

We went on a cute little ride in Norway that reminded me of my seester Charlotte! I miss her terribly! In the collage above, take a look at the two pictures on the right. Alison and I decided to sword fight after the ride of course!

The last thing we did on Day 1 was the Chevrolet Test Track. Just do it. It's worth the wait. I would recommend getting their early to get fast passes! By the time we got to Epcot the fast passes were already distributed. We ended up going in the single rider lane which worked great as well. All I can say is that it's magical and so fun. Like I said, worth the wait!

So there you have it, Day 1 at Disney. I would love to relive it again and again. It was a blast and we were exhausted by the end of the day!

Happy Thursday y'all! Disney Day 2: Universal Studios will be tomorrow!!!

Until next time...

When all else fails, turn to Pinterest!

Oh hey! It's Wednesday! Thank freaking goodness! It may only be my second day at work, but yesterday lasted forever. I was exhausted and bummed that I was no longer at the most magical place on earth. But I am in Houston, Texas where some of my favorite people are :) This is my city and I'm cool with that.

So let's rewind to yesterday and talk about how I did practically nothing. I came home, put on yoga pants, did not work out, watched the Biggest Loser, got Pronto to go for dinner, took Miss Maggie on a walk, watched The Bachelor and fell asleep at 9:00pm. Exciting, I know. It was glorious. Now I'm rested and ready to take on the rest of the week. Notice what I did not do above? Upload pictures or touch my camera. That being said, I have limited material for y'all today. But since everyone loves Pinterest, I'll link up with Michelle and show y'all everything I'm currently obsessing over. Why not?

I love this song :)

Chocolate peanut butter banana bites...3 of my favorite things :)

Okay that's really all that I have for y'all today. Get excited because tomorrow I'll begin recapping my Disney trip! Day One - Animal Kingdom and Epcot!!!

Charlie Mouse!

Y'all I am back and completely exhausted!!! My trip was absolutely amazing and I really didn't want to come home. Maybe have a day of rest in Orlando and then continue on with all the fun of Disney magic. Instead, I'm back in Houston. No more Disney. No more Princesses. No more Mickey. No more yummy food that I don't have to cook. I'm princess pouting y'all. On the plus side, I'm back home with my sweet hubby and pup and I get to sleep in my own bed.

Since I won't get to upload my pictures from Disney until later, I'm going to show you some iPhone pics of my favorite little munchkin...Charlie!!!

On the bus to Universal Studios! It was early :)

This little boy is seriously one of the happiest, calmest babies in the world. He did so great on his first trip to Disney! Can't you just see how excited he is?!

Playin' with his momma at dinner.

Sweet, sleeping little man.

Andrea and little Tigger came to congratulate us at the race finish!!!

So exhausted from race day and shopping at Downtown Disney that  the bus seemed like the perfect place to lean over and just pass out.

It's Charlie Mouse at Magic Kingdom!

This last picture Charlie is wearing an outfit that actually makes him look like Mickey Mouse, hence Charlie Mouse! I have some better pictures on my camera though! I found this online at the Disney Store on Clearance and knew that it was a must have.

Like I said, Disney was amazing, but this girl is wiped out. Hoping for a quick work day to pass so I can go home, start laundry, curl up on the couch with my pup and hubs, and watch The Biggest Loser and The Bachelor. Sounds perfect to me...

Until next time...

Love, Fun, Disney & Football

It's Friday, do y'all know what that means? I'm in Disney World. In fact today I will be gathering all the freebies I can get my hands on at the Fit for a Princess Expo followed by having the time of my life at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot! Oh and did I mention that all of this will be done with 3 of my favorite girls in the world? I'm a lucky lady.

Since I'm clearly a bit pre-occupied today, I have an awesome friend I want y'all to meet! Erin of Love, Fun & Football! She loves Disney and football as much as I do and she's pretty much an all around fun chick. Just see for yourself :)

Hello, friends of Amy!! Thank you so much for letting me stop in and introduce myself. I'm Erin and I blog over at Love, Fun & Football. Amy is one of my favorite daily reads…. the girl loves Disney just as much as I do and her running/workouts constantly motivate me!! We also got matched up recently in a fun Vday swap and I had a lot of fun shopping for her :)

If you stop over at LFF anytime soon, you'll soon see I'm a little bit crazy, but a lotta bit friendly---- I promise :) Most pictures you see of me are going to look more like this...

...because, let's be honest. That is way easier to pull off than any other pose I know!

I'm crazy Type-A and love to organize anything and everything. The very sight of containers makes me happy. Pretty sad, right?! ;) Currently I'm trying to really de-clutter and simplify our life… don't we all just have TOO MUCH stuff??

Not only do I LOVE football, but I also work in the football world too. I may already be counting down the days until the 2013 NFL schedule comes out, and the upcoming draft!

I got married in May 2011 to another crazy football fan. I accidentally stole his hoody in college which led us to meeting each other ;)

You'll find I blog a lot about my obsession with Mexican food, and how I'm currently trying to get back on the whole 'running thing' to makeup for how much I eat it. I love to write on my blog, but I'm also working on a memoir right now! Being a published author is the ultimate dream goal of mine.

I'm a total kid at heart, so that means I will be spazzing out for the next 60(ish) days counting down until our DisneyWorld trip! And of course stalking Amy's trip there... Jared claims he's going to rock these matching shirts together while we're there. Fingers crossed!!

Last random fact about me? I held a baby lion while on our honeymoon in Mexico. Seriously....

I would love to meet you other fabulous ladies out there- so please stop by Love, Fun & Football or follow me on twitter! :)

Thanks so much Erin for taking over while I'm away! Y'all seriously go check Erin out. She's obviously awesome and you'll probably fall in bloggy love with her just like I did!

Until next time...

Disney Bound

It's officially Disney Day! To say that I was too excited to sleep would be correct. Once the hubs alarm went off at 4:45am I didn't really sleep much for the next two hours! Oh well, it's Disney Day!

Two years ago, I decided I needed to do this race. So I signed up hoping that someone would be able to do it with me. That didn't exactly work out, but I was able to go with my momma and her sister and best friends! {My momma is from Florida so it was great for us to see them!}

It ended up being a wonderful trip full of sunshine, food, good company and fun times!

I even did pretty well in the race finishing in 2:04 with stopping for multiple pictures. Definitely a good decision. My amazing support crew was waiting for me at the finish line. Oh and did I mention that I lived across the country from my momma for the first time EVER so it was the perfect chance for us to have mommy/daughter time. She's amazing.

After one race, this princess was hooked. So naturally I rounded up the troops, got them to sign up and started our annual girls weekend! The second time around, I had also planned for my momma to join us! However, my sister's schedule worked out so that she could go! Mom gave up her spot and Em joined us!!!

This time around was perfect. Andrea, Julie and I ran {The race was sold out by the time Emily knew she could join!} together for the first 6 miles. Then I ran with my girl Julie to push her to the finish line! It was fun running together and we got some awesome pictures mid-race. Check them out here!

This time around we actually went to the parks! We spent a day at Magic Kingdom, sporting our tutus of course, and another day at Universal Studios.

But that wasn't enough. We knew we needed another day. So here we are. Year 3. Four days of Disney. Four grown women. Just looking to have an amazing time. I can't believe it's finally here!

Until next time...

No Weights 100's Workout

Happy hump day my lovelies! We've made it to the middle of the week, but let's be honest. It's totally my Thursday. Oh and not to brag or rub it in, but I may have the most awesome boss in the world who told me this morning to work from home tomorrow. Hello awesome.

So I have something non-Disney to share with y'all today. An awesome workout that requires nothing, but you. I would recommend clothes as well. Especially if you're doing this outside :)

I originally introduced a 100's workout a long while back and I haven't been posting many workouts lately. I blame it on the fact that I've been running incessantly. I recently decided that I needed to come up with more circuit workouts and incorporate them into my fitness routine each week. Don't worry, I'll be sharing all the good ones with y'all! And trust me, what you see above is a good one!

I did this workout on Monday right after work. By Tuesday afternoon my booty was WAY sore. Today, my booty, quads and inner thighs are screaming mercy. Perfect.

Not sure about what each of these moves are? Take a look at this post. It includes another workout with lots of pictures of yours truly doing several of these moves. Still not sure what to do? Leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail and I'll describe it in a little more detail!

Want to add a bit more cardio for added challenge? After every other exercise, I did a 200 meter sprint followed by a 200 meter jog {roughly 0.25 miles}. It got my heart rate up and speed work also improves my running!

Let me know if you try out this workout! I hope y'all love it :) It's totally a no excuses workout. It takes less than 20 minutes and requires nothing but you and a little space. Good luck and I hope your booty is as sore as mine :)

Until next time...

Did you know...

You were warned. My brain is all Disney all the time. So what fun facts did you already know below?

Did you know...

...that the Walt Disney World Resort's square footage is equal to the size of San Francisco?

...the first scene in Aladdin was not scripted? In fact, Robin Williams ad-libbed so many of his lines, the script was turned down for Best Adaptive Screenplay Academy Award nomination!

...Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow?

...that all the Disney Princesses are thought to be teenagers? Who said marrying young was a bad thing? Maybe I'm biased because I was 22 :) Check out their ages here!

...if you were to stay in every room at all the Disney resorts (assuming one room per night) it would take you over 68 years?

...that an estimated 1.65 million pairs of sunglasses have been turned into Disney's Lost and Found over the years?

...when Disney World first opened it cost $3.50 to get into Magic Kingdom? It is now $85!

...Pumba from The Lion King was the first Disney character to fart in a movie? It happens :)

...that The Tree of Life, the centerpiece of Animal Kingdom, is 14 stories high and 50 feet wide at the trunk?

...the dance between Belle and the Prince at the end of the movie is reused animation from the dance between Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip? Looks like they were running out of time! can find articles or characters from other Disney movies in a new film? For example in Princess and the Frog you can see the carpet from Aladdin being shaken up on a balcony and a float in the parade is King Triton from The Little Mermaid

So there you have it! A bunch of random facts about Disney World and Disney movies! Did you happen to know any of them?

Until next time...
