Burlap Fever {& a happy birthday}

I love burlap. I know it's all the rage now, but I've always loved the simplicity of it. The great thing about burlap becoming popular is that there are so many awesome ideas out there for me to swoon over and then swoop in and steal them for myself. Here are some of the thousands of pins that I am wanting to recreate as soon as I find a spare minute in this crazy life I'm living.

I need a new tree skirt!

Did you know you can PRINT on burlap? Seriously y'all, you can do so much with this stuff!

Obviously, I need a G. One can never have too much pink or too many monograms. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

So what's your take on burlap? Love it or hate it? I feel as though it brings a simple elegance to the room. Something that's not as easy to capture as one would think. As you can see, I love it and I'm trying to incorporate it into my decor bit by bit. Not too much, but as a Texas girl, I feel like it's appropriate decor :)

Side note, I want to wish my baby brother a very happy birthday. When I say baby brother, I mean it. To me he is still a baby. I mean, I was 10 years old when my little Matt was born! I watched him grow up into the amazing guy he is today.

This is my most recent picture with my Matty {Thanksgiving Day}. He's quickly approaching 6'4" and still not done!

To my little brother:
I love you more than you probably know. I have watched you grow up into a handsome, respectable young man. You are so special to me and I couldn't imagine life or our family without you. You may have been the last addition, but certainly one of the best. It's hard to believe that you're 15 now, next year you can get your driver's license. I still remember the day you were born, changing your diapers, watching you play with Dixie and listening to your adorable baby/toddler talk. My favorite words of yours were tomorrio {tomorrow}, elmo {elbow}, and hornament {ornament}. I loved when you went through a phase where you answered people's questions with a statement, but inflected your voice so it sounded like a question. Or when you thought you were a lion, of course mom dressed you up as a mouse for Halloween. That was interesting. My favorite story of all is actually an awkward one for me, but I have to tell it! I was maybe 13 and you weren't quite 3 and you walked into Mom & Dad's bathroom while I was relaxing in the tub. You promptly told me that I had "little bitty boo-boos." Boo-boo, yes referring to my boobs. My 13 year old self was mortified, but it makes a great story for today. :) Watching you grow up has been such a blessing. Having you for my brother is one of the greatest gifts from God. {Even though Emily and I really thought Mom & Dad were going to tell us we were getting a puppy,  not a baby brother!} I know we don't always see eye to eye and that I'm not always the coolest person you know. Just know that I love you no matter what. No matter how tall you grow or how old you get, you will always be my baby brother, not my little brother, but my baby. Happy birthday Matthew Timmerhead!
Love,
Your slightly annoying, incredibly loud little, big sister
