Instagram Monday: Super Bowl Weekend

Why good morning my lovelies! I hope this Monday morning isn't kicking you in the butt too hard. I'm so thankful to be back on Central time so that the Super Bowl didn't end crazy late for us here in Texas. I will say that I completely passed out last night by 10:00pm and it was glorious. Today I'm linking up with a {little} dash of ash for Instagram Monday! This is my first time to link up as I have just now FINALLY joined Instagram. I just didn't know what I was missing out on! Here is my weekend recap via pictures!

  1. Friday after work I came home to see these beauties on my kitchen table! I must say I have the most thoughtful husband. I think fresh flowers are so nice to have in the house, but I'm not into roses or really pricey flowers. I just enjoy a beautifully colored assortment that you can get for $5.99 at the grocery store.
  2. Saturday night date night! Ready to go :) See #4.
  3. We bought this couch, matching love seat, a coffee table, 2 end tables, 2 lamps and a rug this Saturday! Can't wait to have our new furniture delivered on Wednesday. Pictures to come. JP's parents came in on Saturday and we took them to lunch at The Counter and then ventured off to pick out our furniture. It was so great to have them there with us!
  4. Date night started at Pappadeaux! We were in no rush and there was a long wait {due to a baby shower...at Pappadeaux? weird}, so we started off the evening with drinks out on the patio. Luckily it was a lovely evening and it gave us some time to chat about everything :) We both enjoyed our dinners and since we were so hungry, no pictures were taken. I had the Tilapia Lafayette {tilapia with lump crab meat, capers and spaghetti squash} and the hubs had the Crawfish etouffee. Dinner was followed by a trip to the movie theater to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which we both loved!

  1. Chili Cook Off! We spent Super Bowl Sunday at my friend Ashley's house! Every year, before the actual Super Bowl game, they have a Chili Cook off! JP got to be a judge this year and I was the official score keeper. Heart burn, chili and I don't get along too well. I brought my go-to party dip, healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough dip!
  2. While the Super Bowl party was a blast and I stuffed myself with far too many goodies {I literally work up still feeling full!}, I will say that I was disappointed with the game. It's not that I really wanted the Patriots to win, but I wanted the Giants to lose since they beat the Packers. Oh well, I guess I'm still proud of Eli!
  3. For the 2nd year in a row, this year's Chili Cook off winner was Ashley's dad who also happened to be the birthday boy! Here's Ashley and Mr. Rick tebowing after the victory!
  4. I had to squeeze in a picture of me and the hubs from game day! We had a blast!
We had a great weekend...it was pretty busy but totally worth it! What did you do for the Super Bowl? Did your team win?

Until next time...
With love and God bless,
