Race, Disney on Ice and Weekend Catch Up

Since one post about running and Disney in one month just isn't enough, I've decided to do another one with a different spin. This actually has nothing to do with my last half in Disney. I first wanted to post the professional pictures that I bought from the Houston Half Marathon!

It was such a great race and I can't wait to do it again next year! It's so neat running down the streets that you drive on every day to get to places like work and the grocery store!

As you can see from my last post, I spent most of Saturday shopping and fixing up the spare bedroom for our guests that are coming this weekend! Well, on Saturday night, JP took me to see Disney Princesses on Ice! We were able to get tickets for pretty cheap, so we said why not. I am absolutely in love with Disney, so I was just as happy as the 4/5/6 year old little girls all around me. I was able to get some pretty good shots since our seats were good!

Here we are just before leaving the house!

I'm excited

Tink opened the show

Aladdin was the first story up!

Next was Sleeping Beauty

The Little Mermaid

Snow White

My favorite, Beauty and the Beast

Last up was Cinderella. This was the longest portion of the show and it was great!

I love Gus Gus

Minnie and Mickey

The end was great because all of the princesses came out in their princess gowns, but instead of them being all their different colors, they were white and gold! It was so pretty.

Close up on Belle :)

It was a great show and a nice way to get out of the house and do something different on a Saturday night! I definitely recommend it to any Disney lover or anyone with a little girl. The way the children around me lit up made me so happy and I think I enjoyed it even more because of that.

On Sunday, JP and I went to church and the scripture readings were about the foundation on which you live you life and only a foundation made of stone will help you on your quest into Heaven. This had me thinking more and more about my wants, desires, goals, dreams, wishes, etc. in life and which ones were important because they made me happy and which were important because they would make God happy. It really helps you to get your priorities in line. This Lenten season, I ask that my family and friends help me to pray for patience, strength and humility. It would be so appreciated.

After church, JP and I had plans to go for our 6 mile run on the Montour Trail. Unfortunately, it decided to start snowing on Sunday morning...again. It's already melted now, but please NO MORE SNOW! I'm ready to at least go outside without boot and a heavy coat! Since the snow kept us from running again, we decided to finally join a gym. We joined at LA Fitness and it's actually really nice! We did our run on the treadmills and luckily we were able to get them side by side so it was like running together. I'm really proud of JP for keeping about an 8:45 minute/mile pace for the full 6 miles! I'm not proud because I didn't think that he could do it, but instead because I knew he could push himself that far and he did. I can't wait for us to run a half marathon TOGETHER and to cross the finish line with him! After our workout, we signed up and we got some free stuff! I'm a big fan of free things and these were nice. We got an LA Fitness gym bag, water bottle, LiveStrong headphones, sweat towel and something else that I can't remember right now. The group exercise personnel were not in since it was a Sunday, so I'm going in at some point this week to talk about teaching some classes!

The rest of the day JP and I just laid around with Miss Maggie and enjoyed relaxing for once. (I'm really not good at just chilling out.) It was a great end to a wonderful weekend with my two favorites. Now I am so excited for next weekend and I will be spending this week preparing for my 4 guests!

Until next time...
With love and God bless,
Amy, JP and Maggie
