Our first breakfast at Disney!
See what I mean by plantation on the river feel?!
After a little bit of exploration, we headed off to the race expo. This was at Disney's Wide World of Sports. It was super crowded because there was also a cheerleading nationals (sigh...brings back memories) and a flag football tournament (which wasn't really in the way, but still in the complex). After waiting in line for what seemed like forever just to get my race number and D-tag, we were able to explore the expo, pick up some neat free stuff, take TONS of pictures and buy a few Disney princess race trinkets!

After the expo, we headed back to the hotel for a late lunch and to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening by the pool. I had to get up at 3am on Sunday morning so I was the party pooper and went to bed at 8:00pm. The girls stayed out talking and had so much fun catching up and talking about their silly childhood stories (I've heard them all before so I didn't miss too much ;)
Sunday was RACE DAY!!! I dressed up in the funnest costume and had a great race! I atmosphere was awesome, probably because I was in Disney World! We ran through Epcot and Magic Kingdom and we got to run around in a lot of the "behind the scenes" places. I got my 10K (6.2 miles) personal record at 54:09! The second half of the race, I slowed down to take in the scenes and take some pictures with the Disney characters along the way! I'll be ordering those pictures soon and I'll be sure to post. I'm most excited about the one in front of Cinderella's castle! I finished the race in 2:02:14. Not too bad considering I was planning on finishing around 2:10:00, but I was on such a roll during the first half, slowing down the second half of the race didn't seem to mess me up too much. Here are some pictures after the race!
Me and Ms. Robin
I love my momma!!! My number 1 fan :)
Me and Debbie
My Aunt Dianne!
Someone wasn't able to get up early enough to make it to the race :) I promise I took a good picture with her too!
Trish slept in with Ginny and is clearly confused by my expression! Love love!
After the race, Trish, Ginny and Debbie had to head back to Tampa since they has to get home to work the next morning. Mom, Aunt Dianne, Ms. Robin and I hung out at the pool and took naps before we headed out to Downtown Disney! Our resort had a boat ride that took you down the river straight to Downtown Disney, so we took advantage of the fun, free form of transportation. There we walked around, had a few drinks, shopped at Disney store and ate at Planet Hollywood!
On the boat
Hello Downtown Disney!
How could I say no to a picture opp with Cinderella?!
We crashed hard that night from a long and busy day. On Monday, we went outlet mall shopping, explored our resort grounds some more and hung out at another pool. My goal was to get somewhat of a tan so I didn't look like I lived up north and I accomplished my mission! All in all, I had such an amazing trip with a group of wonderful and fun ladies! I can't wait to do it next year!
Sorry this post is so long, but I hope you all enjoy the Disney magic! Until next time...
With love and God bless,
Amy, JP and Maggie
